Steven Stamper (Turnberry) leads the chase for the 2016 Ayrshire Order Of Merit title and Doc Thom Salver, with just three counting events remaining to be added to the points table.The results from the recent Stevenson Trophy competition at Girvan are still awaited, whilst this weekend, on Sunday 21st August, the penultimate counting event takes place when the Viking Krus competition is held at Largs GC.
In the latest two events Jim Johnston (Ayr Belleisle) took maximum points at the Troon St Meddans Open with a scratch 68 over the Lochgreen course whilst competition organiser William Fleming got his just rewards in the Ballochmyle Rosebowl, taking full points with his winning two round total of 140.
The final counting event of the season will be the Arrol Cup at Prestwick St Nicholas on Saturday 17th September.
