AYRSHIRE SCRATCH LEAGUES - Prestwick St Cuthbert lead Division 1 whilst Ayr Dalmilling withdrawal gives Moorpark the Division 5 title

The destination of the five Ayrshire Scratch League Championships are rapidly nearing a conclusion. Following completion of a number of matches recently, with the withdrawal of Ayr Dalmilling from Division 5 resulting in Moorpark winning the division from Crosshouse.

In DIVISION 1, Prestwick St Cuthbert have established a clear lead at the top of the table following a 3.5 – 2.5 away win at Turnberry and a 5.5 – 0.5 home win in thir latest match against Ballochmyle at home.

Defending champions Irvine moved clear of the relegation zone with home wins by 4 – 2 over Turnberry and 5 – 1 over Kilmarnock (Barassie), whilst Turnberry returned to winning ways in their latest match with a 5 – 1 home win over Kilmanrock (Barassie).

In DIVISION 2, West Kilbride and Irvine Ravenspark are neck and neck at the top of the division. Following a 3 - 3 draw between the two clubs at Irvine.

Ayr Belleisle moved into mid table with a good 3 – 3 draw away to West Kilbride.

In DIVISION 3, it is too close to call, with three clubs locked together on 12 points at the top of the table.

Kilbirnie Place dented the hopes of Largs with a 5 – 1 win at Kilbride but Rowallan Castle inflicted a defeat on visitors Kilbirnie by the same margin to keep things close in the title chase.

The withdrawal of Ardeer means that the remaining teams in the section will not be subject to relegation this year.

In DIVISION 4, a 3.5 – 2.5 home win by Troon Portland over title rivals Brunston Castle keeps the two teams locked together at the top of the table.

In DIVISION 5, Ayr Dalmilling became the second team in the league to withdraw before completing their fixtures, leaving only Moorpark and Crosshouse in the section. As the two fixtures between the remaing teams have already been completed, Moorpark become Division 5 league Champions, 
following a home win and an away draw in the two matches played.
