There are only a few fixtures still to be
completed in the Ayrshire Scratch leagues, as the 2016 competition enters its
final few weeks.
In Division 1, Loudoun had an important win
over Ballochmyle, by 3.5 – 2.5, in their latest fixture which leaves
Ballochmyle needing to win the return match next week to have any chance of
avoiding the drop into Division 2 next year.
The Division 1 trophy is destined to have a
new name added this year, with the championship destined to go to either
Prestwick St Cuthbert or Turnberry.
There are only three matches still to be
played in Division 1 with Loudoun due to visit Ballochmyle and Turnberry facing
a trip to Loudoun as well as a crucial away trip to Prestwick St Cuthbert.

In Division 2, West Kilbride only need a
draw in their final match at Troon St Meddans to take the title ahead of Irvine
Ravenspark who finished their fixtures with a 3.5 – 2.5 away win against St
Meddans, although the St Meddsans team will be looking for a result in their
last match to ensure their own safety in the division next year.
A recent 4 – 2 defeat at home to Ayr
Belleisle leaves Girvan at the foot of the table with a crucial home tie
against Troon Welbeck remaining to be played.
As well as the Troon Welbeck vs Girvan and
Troon St Meddans Vs West Kilbride ties remaining, Troon Welbeck also have an
outstanding home match against Ayr Belleisle to complete.

In Division 3, Rowallan Castle earned a 3 –
3 draw away to Kilbrinie Place recently, though Largs remain at the top of the
table with two games in hand over their nearest challengers.
Largs have three fixtures remaining, with a
home tie against Prestwick St Nicholas and away fixtures at St Nicholas and
Rowallan Castle, whilst Kilbirnie complete their seasons fixtures with a home
game against Caprington.

In Division 4, New Cumnock moved above Tam
O Shanter at the foot of the table, after a 4.5 – 1.5 home win over Brunston
Castle and a conceded match from Tam O Shanter who could not raise a team for
the fixture at new Cumnock, leaving Tam O Shanter occupying the relegation
place in the division this year..
The only tie remaining to be played in the
division sees new Cumnock playing host to the new Division 4 champions Troon
Portland.
