Both the
Scottish Boys Strokeplay and the Scottish Girls Championship were hit by the
weather on Wednesday, 20th July, resulting in the formats of both
events being amended.
In the Boys
Championship at Lanark, thunder and lightning and flooding caused by torrential
rain caused the abandonment of the second round of strokeplay, with a curtailed
field of forty players going on to complete the championship on Thursday, with
the cut being determined on the first round scores only.

from Western Austrailia leads with a four under par 66, by one shot, from R Yu
Zhu (Sandyhills) with Jamie Stewart (Old Ranfurly) and Robert Watson (Muckhart)
one shot further back after opening rounds of 68.
The abandonment
of round two saw the cut fall at four over par 74, leaving the four Ayrshire
players competing in the championship with no opportunity to make the scheduled
36 hole cut.
Alyx Murray
(Troon Welbeck) and Jack Broun (Ayr Belleisle) missed out by three shots with
opening rounds of 77 whilst Euan Ferguson (Turnberry) was one shot further back
and Jordan Sweeney (Ayr Belleisle) a shot further behind on 79.

The Scottish
Girls Championship at Baberton experienced similar weather for the first round
of the Matchplay, which lead to the abandonment of any further play on
Wednesday.

(Troon Ladies) was joint leader after the two qualifying rounds, her four under
par total of 144 being matched by Jasmine Mackintosh (Hazlehead) and Alison
Muirhead (Dubai), whilst Louise Duncan (West Kilbride) finished on 152 after
rounds of 75 & 77, and Rachel Foster (Turnberry) returned a total of 167
with rounds of 82 & 85.
As a result of
the abandonment of play on Wednesday, the girls' championship will be decided by 18
holes of strokeplay on Thursday.
