EUROPEAN GIRLS' TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP - Ayrshire duo lead the way for Scotland

Ayrshire girls Louise Duncan (West Kilbride) and Hazel McGarvie (Troon ladies) led the way for the Scotland team in the European Girls' team Championship on the opening day in Oslo on Tuesday 5th July.

Both the Ayrshire players carded level par 72's to lie joint thirteenth in the individual rankings, which helped Scotland to tenth place in the team event, giving the side a good chance to qualify among the eight teams for the top flight of the matchplay rounds, as they finished with a team total of 382 after the first round to leave them 26 shots behind leaders Sweden
