Euan Ferguson (Turnberry) has won the 2015 Ayrshire Junior Order Of Merit title following completion of the 20 qualifying events last week.


15 year old Ferguson gained his 580 winning points total in seven of the qualifying competitions, taking full points at the West Kilbride and Ayr Belleisle, along with second places at Royal Troon, Prestwick St Nicholas and the Tom Lehman Junior Open at Troon Municipal, joint second at Prestwick St Cuthbert and joint third over his home course at Turnberry.

Jack Broun

The runner up this year was Ferguson's Turnberry club mate Jack Broun, who also plays at Ayr Belleisle. Broun, who finished on 457.5 points gained points in eight of the qualifying events, with maximum points at Ballochmyle, joint first at Troon Welbeck, second places at Loudoun and Ayr Belleisle as well as joint third at Turnberry and Prestwick St Nicholas and other minor placings at Largs & Prestwick St Cuthbert.

With 307.5 points, Callum Irving (Ayr Belleisle) took third place this year, just 7.5 points ahead of Ayrshire Boys Champion Craig McKenzie (Troon Welbeck) in fourth. Irving gained his points from six of the counting events, including maximum points at  Largs and Turnberry, joint third at Troon Welbeck and Prestwick St Nicholas as well as minor placings at Ballochmyle and in the Tom Lehman Junior Open at Troon.
