EUROPEAN MENS TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS - two points for McDonald as Scotland beat England in semi finals

Jack McDonald
Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie) contributed two points on Friday 10th July in the semi finals of the European Mens team Championship in Sweden, as Scotland beat England in the semi finals by 4 - 3.

The morning foursomes were shared 1 - 1, Jack McDonald combining with Graeme Robertson for a 2 & 1 win with the other Scots pairing of Ewen Ferguson & Grant Forrest losing out by 3 & 2.

Forrest won in the afternoon but Ferguson lost and with Jack McDonald adding a 3 & 2 victory in his tie whilst Connor Syme lost, the match hinged on the final tie between Greg Marchbank and England's Ben Taylor.

Things looked bleak for the Scots with Marchbank three down at one stage, and still two behind with three holes to play, but Marchbank became the hero of the hour, fighting back to square the match after eighteen before winning his tie, and a place in the final for the Scotland team, at the first extra hole.

In Saturday's final, Scotland will face Denmark who beat the hosts Sweden 4.5 - 2.5 in their semi final clash.
