CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS TROPHY - McInally quest for sixth title still on track

Bidding for title number 6
The bid by the new Ayrshire Strokeplay Champion Tommy McInally (Loudoun) for an unprecedented sixth Champion Of Champions title win remains on track after he booked his place in the last sixteen recently.

Playing at home against Andrew Carroll (Drongan) in round two, McInally eased to a 7 & 5 win to progress to the third round, where he will be away from home against either Gordon Johnston (Kilbirnie) or last years strokeplay champion John Shanks (Irvine).

Also through to the last sixteen is Frank Murdoch (Brunston Castle) who had a 2 & 1 win over Kevin O'Neill (Alton) in round two. Murdoch will be at home to either Andrew Power (Troon Portland) or Kevin Coupland (Malletsheugh) in round three.

Kenny Whitfield (Irvine Ravenspark) will have a home tie in round three against either Del Chamberlain (Troon Welbeck) or Stuart Robin (Prestwick St Cuthbert), following his second round winby 3 & 2 at home to Charles Allan (New Cumnock)

The remaining second round matches are due to be completed by 17th May.
