SCOTTISH BOYS CHAMPIONSHIP - 14 Ayrshire players bid for national crown at Dunbar

The 2015 Scottish Boys Championship takes place at Dunbar GC from Monday 6th April to Saturday 11th April, and there are 14 Ayrshire players in the starting line up this year.

Surprisingly, for the second time in recent years the championship has not attracted a full field of 256, with 10 players receiving a bye into round two.

Ayrshire Boys Champion Jack Thomas (Irvine) is one of the players having the good fortune to receive a bye into round two as a result of the reduced field.

First off for Ayrshire on the Monday morning is Jordan Sweeney (Ayr Belleisle) who plays in the first match, teeing off at 0645, against Jack Cornes (High Leigh park Country Club).

The other first round ties involving Ayrshire players on Monday 6th April are :-

Match 10 (0757) - Luke Murdoch (Loudoun) Vs Kieren McAllister (Easter Moffat)
Match 35 (1125) - Murray McCrone (Troon Welbeck) Vs Graeme Gillies (Pumpherston)
Match 36 (1133) - Lewis Breslin (Fereneze) Vs Ewen Milligan (Kilmarnock Barassie)
Match 37 (1141) - Rory Franssen (Inverness) Vs Callum Irving (Ayr Belleisle)
Match 38 (1149) - Alistair McNaughton (Caldwell) Vs Jack Purdie (Largs)
Match 57 (1425) - Jack Thomas (Irvine) received a bye into round 2
Match 68 (1557) - Rhys Thomas (Palacerigg) Vs Charlie Cameron (Ayr Belleisle)
Match 74 (1645) - Jamie Connelly (Carnoustiie Caledonia) Vs Sean Cook (Kilmarnock Barassie)

The only all Ayrshire first round match, match number 86, takes place on Tuesday 7th April at 0813 when Callum McLean (Kilmarnock Barassie) and Elliot Spence (Loudoun) clash.
