SCOTTISH SENIORS OPEN STROKEPLAY - Two Ayrshire players survive cut

Two of the five Ayrshire players in the 2014 Scottish Seniors Open Strokeplay, being played at Blairgowrie this week, survived the cut after the opening two rounds of the championship.

The leader after 36 holes is Barry Brooks (Meldrum House_ on 139, after rounds of 70 and 69.

The 36 hole cut fell at 155 and the best placed of the Ayrshire players was former senior internationalist David J Miller (Kilmarnock Barassie) on 153 after rounds of 77 & 76.

The other Ayrshire qualifier for the closing round was Ricky Gray (Irvine) who finished right on the mark on 155 after rounds of 80 & 75.

After his opening 74, Ronnie McLellan (Turnberry) took ten shots more in the second round to miss the cut by three shots on 158, a total matched by his clubmate John Broadfoot (Turnberry) with rounds of 81 & 77.

B J G Bingham (Royal Troon) carded 160 with successive rounds of 80.
