SGU & SLGA AMALGAMATION PROPOSALS - Clubs invited to consultation meeting

As part of the process towards the proposed amalgamation of the Scottish Golf Union and Scottish Ladies Golfing Association into a unified single national governing body for amateur golf in Scotland, a number of consultation meetings have been arranged by the SGU.

The consultation process was outlined in the SGU E-bulletin issued to clubs on 7 March.

It is now very important that as many people as possible consider the Consultation Proposal and provide their feedback and constructive comments.

To assist with this within the SGU the Ayrshire Golf Association will be hosting a consultation meeting on

TUESDAY 27th MAY at 7.00 p.m. at IRVINE (Bogside) GOLF CLUB.

This meeting will be attended by SGU Chairman, Tom Craig, so club representatives can have the opportunity of discussing the proposals with him in person. Tom will be accompanied by Ian Storie from the Joint SGU/SLGA Amalgamation Working Group.

An invite has been sent by email to each member club of the Ayrshire Golf Association to send up to two representatives and it would be helpful if clubs could advise the Area Secretary no later than Friday 16th May who will represent the club at the meeting.
