AYRSHIRE SCRATCH LEAGUES - Loudoun clinch second successive Division 1 title

Loudoun Gowf Club made it two in a row on Sunday 8th September when they won their final league fixture of the season to win the Division 1 title for the second successive year.

The 4 - 2 home win over Irvine Ravenspark took the Loudoun team two points clear at the top of the table, and although Troon Welbeck could match their points total with a win in their final game, even a 6 - 0 win for Welbeck in their last match would not see them overtake Loudoun's 'ties for' total.

The result at Loudoun also plunged West Kilbride into Division 2 for next season. The two points gained by Irvine Ravenspark means that West Kilbride would require to beat Troon Welbeck in their final match by 6 - 0 to match Ravenspark's tie difference total, and even in that event, the final league position would be decided by the results of the matches between the two sides, which show a 7 - 5 tie ration in favour of Ravenspark.
