PGA FOURBALL CHAMPIONSHIP - Prestwick pair qualify for national event

The Tartan Tour qualifiers for the PGA Fourball Championship were decided at Musselburgh Golf Club on Tuesday 13 August, with two Prestwick players earning their place in the Golfbreaks.com PGA Fourball Championship at Forest Pines Golf Club, near Brigg, Lincolnshire on October 2nd to 4th 

David Fleming

Prestwick GC head professional David Fleming teamed up with senior assistant Nicky Sinclair to record a 65 and give them joint third place in the event.

The qualifiers on the par 71 course were :-

64 - Richard Clark (Bruntsfield Links) and David Broadfoot (Dumfries and Co), Anthony Mackrell (Playsport and Scott Catlin (Greenburn).
65 - Mark Loftus (Mearns Castle) and Simon Payne (Cowglen), Nicky Sinclair and David Fleming (Prestwick).66 - Jonathan Porteous and David Laing (Craigielaw).

Colin Robinson and Gavin Cook (Prestonfield) also finished on the 66 mark but were not present at the end of play to take part in a play-off so Porteous and Laing were automatically handed the last of the five qualifying places.
