SCOTTISH GOLF ACADEMY - Self nomination for 2013/14 programme now open

The Scottish Golf Union and the Scottish Ladies’ Golfing Association are currently searching for Scotland’s brightest young golfers for our 2013/14 Academy Programme.

Blairgowrie’s Bradley Neil, the new Scottish Boys champion and Ewan Scott from St Andrews, the reigning Scottish Youths champion, are just two of the young males who have progressed through the Scottish Golf Academy programme in recent years, as did Scott Borrowman from Dollar, the SGU Men’s Oder of Merit winner in 2012.

Scottish girls’ title holder Lauren Whtye, from the St Regulus Club in St Andrews, and Clara Young of North Berwick, a GB&I girls’ international, have also come through the Academy.

If you are under 15 years of age (on 1 January 2013) and have a handicap of 10 or under for boys or 20 or under for girls then you can nominate yourself for consideration in the selection process.

Nominees are also asked to fit the following criteria:
* Good attitude to coaching with a willingness to learn
* Good “on and off course” attitude
* Commitment to the entire Academy Programme
* Desire to succeed at the highest level
* Potential to become a future Scotland international
