SCOTTISH BOYS CHAMPIONSHIP - Five Ayrshire players through to last 32

Of the 7 Ayrshire players through to the Wednesday afternoon third round ties, five survived to progress to the fourth round, with Ayrshire guaranteed at least one representative in the last 16, with two of the county players meeting in round four on Thursday morning.

Stuart Easton

facing the challenge of number one seed Ewan Scott (St Andrews New), Murray McCrone (Troon Welbeck) acquitted himself well before bowing out of the championship following a 3 & 1 defeat.

Stuart Easton (Irvine) beat Aidan Fortune (Roxburghe) by 3 & 1 to go through to the fourth round where he will be up against Hamish Mills (Cardross), who also has an Ayrshire connection, being a member at Largs.






Louis Murray
In the all Ayrshire third round tie between Elliot Masterson (Kilmarnock Barassie) and Louis Murray (Troon Welbeck), it was Murray who won through by the narrowest of margins on the final green to set up a fourth round match against Ben Kinsley(St Andrews New).












Blair Gavin
Euan Walker
Blair Gavin (Kilmarnock Barassie) beat Steven Roger ((Cruden Bay) by 2 & 1 to set up a fourth round tie against his clubmate Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie), who booked his place in round 4 with a 5 & 4 win over Jake Scott (Duff House Royal).






Darryl Lynch





The final Ayrshire player to book his place in round four was Darryl Lynch (Ayr Belleisle) who won 3 & 1 against Willem Kerr (Craigielaw). Lynch now faces Callum McGuigan (Comrie) on Thursday morning.

Rounds 4 and 5 are scheduled to be completed on Thursday, with quarter and semi finals on Friday, followed by the final on Saturday.
