AYRSHIRE LADIES COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP - youngsters lead the qualifiers

SLGA training squad members Emma Hale and Connie Jaffrey, both from the Ladies Club, Troon, led the field of qualifiers for the 2013 Ayrshire Ladies' County Championship which is being held at Irvine GC this week.

65 players braved testing conditions with a strong and cold easterly wind at the Bogside course on Monday 8th April, although the event was blessed with some sunshine and the rain stayed away.

Both of the young Troon golfers carded 79's with Emma taking the top qualifier spot from Connie on the countback, with a better last six holes.

The matchplay rounds take place on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The pairings in the first round of the matchplay on Tuesday morning are :-

0924 - Liz Kehone (Loudoun) Vs Jane Finnie (Troon Ladies)
0932 - Jenny Linklater (Largs) Vs Catherine Garrett (West KIlbride)
