PAUL LAWRIE GOLF CENTRE SCOTTISH LADIES OPEN TOUR - Ayrshire based professional lend support to new circuit

Lisa Shervill
An Ayrshire based professional has lent her support to the new Paul Lawrie Golf Centre Scottish Ladies Open Tour which has been innaugurated this year in Scotland.

The PLGC Scottish Ladies Open Tour (SLOT) is a mini golf tour based in Scotland, set up with the aim of acting as a 'stepping stone' to the main Ladies European Tour.

The events in the tour are open to all female professionals and to single figure handicap female amateurs who want to measure their ability against the professionals.

This is a player led tour with NO MEMBERSHIP FEE and an entry fee of only £50 per tournament.

Further details on the tour and how to enter can be accessed at

Lisa Shervill, who has a home in West Kilbride, whose maiden name was Walters, lived in England until 2009. She represented England from the age of 13 and GB & I from the age of 16. Lisa was the English Champion and 3rd in Europe in her best year as an amateur.

Lisa had a son in 2000 which prompted a 3 years 'retirement' from the game before turning professional and played on tour until 2008.

Lisa moved to Scotland with her husband, who was on the mens tour coaching and wanted a base for him to go back to his passion which is jnr youth developement, hence the move to West Kilbride where she now stays.

Lisa and her husband had a little girl in 2010 so 2013 will be her first full year back in competition, having played in only 2 events last year, the Ladies United Pro Tour Srixon Matchplay, which she won, and the Tour School in December where she missed out on a qualifying spot.

Speaking about the new tour, Lisa commented

" To go from no tour to have something to play in is a real delight. As word spreads it will get bigger and more popular and for the future girls in scotland to develop and have a goal to play on this tour is vital "

There are a number of events already scheduled for the tour, with prize money for the professionals and vouchers up to £500 for the amateur participants available.

There is also an Order of Merit with a place in Stage 1 of the LET Q-school for the winner and a self catering break at Gleneagles Village for the leading amateur.
