SCOTTISH SENIORS MATCHPLAY - two from three through to last 16

Two of the Ayrshire's three representatives in the latter stages of the 2012 Scottish Seniors Matchplay Championship succersfully negotiated the first round of matchplay at West Kilbride on Wednesday 11 th June.
 
Richard Gray (Irvine) beat William Brown (Strathaven) by 6 & 5 whilst County President David Miller (Kilmarnock Barassie) beat Sandy Fairweather (Carnoustie Caledonia) by 2 holes.
 
Ayrshire's other representative in the last 32, Alan Harrington (Western Gailes) saw a lead of three holes with four to play slip away against Bill Erskine (Kilsyth Lennox) en route to a noneteenth hole defeat.

David Gardner (Broomieknowe) beat Ian Angus (Duff House Royal) by 2 holes
Bob Stewart (Tulliallan) beat George Blair (Haddington) by 2 holes
Fraser McCluskey (Royal Burgess) beat Gordon Thomson (Bearsden) by 2&1
Graham Cox (Pollok) beat John J Johnston (Lanark) by 2&1
Ian Gillan (Bishopbriggs) beat Angus Lamond (Haggs Castle) by 2&1

Keith Bruce (Edzell) beat George Rodaks (Pitreavie) at the 19th
Ian Brotherston (Dumfries and County) beat Stephen Ellis (Innellan) at the 19th

Ian Taylor (Royal Burgess) beat James Johnston (Northumberland) by 5&4
