SCOTTISH GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP - Jaffrey is lone Ayrshire player in quarter finals

Connie Jaffrey (Troon ladies) is the only one of the Ayrshire players who survived the first two matchplay rounds of the Scottish Girls Championship at Crail on Thursday to book a place in the quarter finals.

Katie McGarva (Troon Ladies) won her first round match by 5 & 3 but went out in round two on the wrong end of a 6 & 5 scoreline.

Clubmate Emma Hale won the first round Ayrshire tie against Rachel Irvine (Largs) by 3 & 1 but crashed out in the afternoon, losing by 5 & 4.

Connie Jaffrey kept Ayrshire hopes alive with a 4 & 3 first round victory and booked her place in the quarter finals with a narrow one hole win in her second round match.
