AYRSHIRE FOURBALL - Four more teams through to round 3

Four more teams have booked their places in the last 16 of the 2012 Ayrshire Fourball Trophy competition.

With the remaining second round ties due to be completed by Sunday 20th May, eight of the 16 third round combatants are now known.

Robert Marshall & Phil Rooney (Beith) beat Alan Gaff & Alan Copland (Girvan) to secure a home match against either Largs Routenburn or Troon Welbeck in the third round.

Colin Berry & Derek Young (Crosshouse) were taken to the 19th hole at home to Andrew Turnbull & David Cook (Fenwick) before they won through to round 3 where they face a home tie against Saxone or Maybole.

In the bottom half of the draw, Cameron & Len Ross (Caprington) beat their visitors David & Iain MacDonald (Largs) and are away from home in round 3 against James McComisky & Adam Cairns (Troon Portland), whislt a home win by Mick McGowan & Gerry Reid (Alton) over Derek Bryson & Martin Riddell (New Cumnock) saw them into a last 16 away tie against Graeme Gebbie & John Houston (Loudoun).
