SCOTTISH CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS - Brown best for Ayrshire at Leven

Scott Brown (Turnberry) was the best placed of the three Ayrshire player in the opening 'Major' of the Scottish amateur golf calendar in 2012, the 72 hole Scottish Champion Of Champions event at Leven on 7th and 8th April.

Rounds of 72, 75, 69 and 72, on the par 71 course, left Brown in a tie for 10th place on 288, 13 shots adrift of the winner, Fraser McKenna of Balmore.

Two of Ballochmyle's winning Scottish Club Championship team were also in the field for the event.

Craig Hamilton finished on 301 with rounds of 78, 76, 72 & 75 whilst William Fleming finished on 318 with rounds of 80, 81, 82 & 75.
