2011 AYRSHIRE SCRATCH LEAGUES - Final tables

The 2011 Ayrshire Scratch leagues have been completed, with the remaining promotion and relegation issues, under the revised format of the competition initiated this year, having been settled.


In Division 1, Troon Welbeck pipped defending champions Kilmarnock (Barassie) for the title, whilst Ayr Belleisle finished bottom of the table and will compete in Division 2 next year.

 In Division 2, Balloochmyle took the championship title and will be promoted to Division 1 next season, whilst Kilbirnie Place finished bottom and will drop down to Division 3 in 2012.

 Prestwick St Cuthbert took the honours in Division 3 and will be promoted to division 2 for 2012. To balance up the leagues after two withdrawals, there will be no relegation from Division 3 this year.

 Prestwick St Nicholas took the Division 4 title with a win in their final match of the season and will be promoted to division 3 next season. Again, to balance the leagues, there will be no relegation from Division 4 this season.

 Girvan were the outstanding team in division 5 as they ttook the title and promotion to Division 4 next season.

The five Divisional trophies, along with commemorative plaques for the winning clubs to retain, will be presented at the Ayrshire dinner at Prestwick St Nicholas Golf Club in February 2012.

The provisional leagues, assuming no change in the entrants, for the 2012 competition will be :-

DIVISION 1 - Troon Welbeck, Kilmarnock Barassie, Loudoun, Irvine,
Irvine Ravenspark, Ballochmyle.
DIVISION 2 - Ayr Belleisle, Ardeer, West Kilbride, Caprington,
New Cumnock, Prestwick St Cuthbert
DIVISION 3 - Kilbirnie Place, Troon St Meddans, Largs,
Tam O Shanter, Prestwick St Nicholas
DIVISION 4 - Turnberry, Ayr Dalmilling, Maybole,
Moorpark, Girvan
DIVISION 5 - Doon Valley, Rowallan Castle, Crosshouse, Brunston Castle

In the event of withdrawals or additional entrants, the composition of these divisions may be altered, relevant to the final positions clubs attained in 2011
