SENIORS HOME INTERNATIONALS - Scots lose out to Ireland on day one

England and Ireland were the first day winners in the 2011 Seniors Home Internationals being held from 13th to 15th September at Woodhall Spa.

Ireland, the winners for the last three years, fought back from a morning defecit of 2 - 1 in the foursomes to beat Scotland 5 - 4 in the match.

In his debut for the national team, Ayrshire Golf Association President David Miller (Kilmarnock Barassie) was under pressure early in his singles match, going three down after three holes. Miller halted the early onslaught but was unable to get back into the match, eventually losing 5 & 3 to Adrian Morrow.
