AYRSHIRE SENIORS LEAGUE - Season set for exciting finish at West Kilbride

The Ayrshire Seniors League competition is set for an exciting finish, with the two newcomers, West Kilbride and Prestwick St Nicholas, meeting on 8th September at West Kilbride for the title.

A win by Prestwick St Nicholas would give them the league title whilst West Kilbride need only avoid defeat to take the championship.

West Kilbride and Prestwick St Nicholas moved into pole position with away wins by 3 - 2 and 5 -0 respectively at Ballochmyle and Kilbirnie Place in August.

Long time leaders Prestwick St Cuthbert had a 4.5 - 0.5 home win over Ballochmyle in their penultimate fixture but crashed to a 4.5 - 0.5 defeat at Ardeer in their final match of the series, leaving them just short of any hopes of taking the title.

In their other fixture played in August, Ardeer had a 3 - 2 home win over Kilmarnock Barassie to consolodate their mid table position.
