AYRSHIRE CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS - Brown stands between McInally and second hat trick

Scott Brown (Turnberry) stands between Tommy McInally (Loudoun) and a second hat trick of victories in the Ayrshire Champion Of Champions Trophy competition, after the two players won through their respective semi finals at Royal Troon on Friday evening, 5th August.
Scott Brown & Ewan McKinnon

In the first semi final, former Ayrshire matchplay champion Scott Brown faced Ewan McKinnon (Corrie) who was appearing in his first major Ayrshire semi final. In bright and breezy conditions, it was Scott Brown who took command of the tie and booked his place in the final with a 6 & 5 win.
Adam Sweeney & Tommy McInally

In the second semi final, title holder Tommy McInally, who has won the title on five previous occasions in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2009 and 2010, was up against Adam Sweeney (Largs Routenburn) who, like Ewan McKinnon, was making his first appearance in the semi finals. Like Scott Brown, Tommy McInally used his experience to take control of the tie and eventually run out a comfortable winner by 5 & 4.

The final of the 2011 Ayrshire Champion Of Champions Trophy is scheduled to take place next Friday 12th August, again at Royal Troon, with a 5.00 p.m. tee off.
