SCOTTISH SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIP - Walker runner up in individual event whilst North Ayrshire girls finish third

The 2011 Scottish Schools Golf Championship was held at Murrayshall Golf Club on Monday 6th June, with Ayrshire players featuring in the prize list in both the boys and girls events.

Having travelled to the venue straight from helping Ayrshire to second place in the Area Boys Team Championship on Sunday, Kilmarnock Barassie's Euan Walker (South Ayrshire) contined his excellent form to return a two under par total of 139, just losing out on the individual title by three shots from Daniel McConnachie (Dumfries & Galloway)

In the girls team event, the North Ayrshire duo of Connie Jaffrey and Mhairi Mckay combined for a team total of 310 to finish just two shots behind the winners, Fife, and one behind the second placed team, North Aberdeenshire.
