DOC THOM AYRSHIRE ORDER OF MERIT - Smyth leads the table after three events

Michael Smyth (Royal Troon) - picture right - is out in front in the chase for the 2011 Doc Thom Ayrshire Order Of Merit after completion of the first three counting events of the 14 event programme.

A share of first place in the Ayrshire Strokeplay, first place in the Ayrshire Matchplay and a share of second place in the Hillhouse Cup at Royal Troon has given Smyth a current total of 262.5 points.

In second place at present is Ayrshire Strokeplay Champion Jamie Mackay (Kilmarnock Barassie), with 187.5 points from two of the three events played, whislt the winner of the Hillhouse Cup at the weekend, Scott McCahill (Maybole) lies in third place at present on 100 points.

The next counting event is the Scottish Strokeplay Championship at Blairgowrie from 27 - 29 May, followed by the Loudoun Open on Saturday 4th June and the Belleisle Cup on Sunday 5th June
