AYRSHIRE STROKEPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP - Record low cut as event is vastly oversubscribed

The cut for the 2011 Ayrshire Strokeplay Championship, to be held at West Kilbride on Sunday 24th April, fell at a record low of 1.9 as the entry for the event was oversubscribed by over 50% by the closing date.

With the field limited to 60 players for the 36 hole championship, 100 entries were received from some of the best golfers in Ayrshire, which resulted in those with a handicap over 1.9 being balloted out.

Players unlucky enough to be balloted out will be refunded their entry fee in full after the championship.

The players returning the best 16 aggregate scratch scores will contest the 2011 Ayrshire Matchplay Championship  over the Troon Portland course from Monday 2nd to Thursday 5th May.
