COUNTY PRESIDENTS - Can you fill in the gaps ?.

Recent research has established that the Ayrshire Golf Association was established In February or March 1955 to replace the former Ayrshire Golf Committee, whcih was part of the Western District Committee of the SGU.

Until now, records of officials of the Ayrshire Golf Association have been incomplete. some research has filled in some of the gaps bt the help of the members of Ayrshire clubs is now sought in an attempt to establish a full list of Presidents of The Ayrshire Golf Association since its inception in 1955, to give the individuals who served the county in this capacity due recognition.

If any other golfers in the county can provide information as to the post holders in the missing years then The Association would be grateful if any details could be passed to the secretary by email to

It is hoped that the list can be completed by the end of the year, to allow for inclusion in the 2011 Ayrshire Golf Association yearbook.
