AYRSHIRE CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS - McInally & McCahill contest final

Reigning champion Tommy McInally (Loudoun) - pictured left - continued his defence of the title on Friday with a semi final win in the Ayrshire Champion Of Champions Trophy competition at Royal Troon.

Four times winner of the title, and the only player to win the trophy three years in succession when he triumphed in 2003, 2004 and 2005, McInally faced a tough semi final against Scottish Internationalist Steven McEwan (Caprington) but won through to the final with a 3 & 2 victory.

In the other semi final Scott McCahill (Maybole) - pictured right - faced Lee Highes (Beith). Already a semi finalist in this years Ayrshire Fourball Championship, McCahill secured his first appearance in the Champion Of Champions final with a two hole victory over Hughes.

The final of the Champion Of Champions competition will be played at Royal Troon on Friday 13th August with a 5.00 p.m. tee off. Spectators are welcome to attend and support the finalists in their bid for the title.
