AYRSHIRE BOYS MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP - Wilson crosses first hurdle in defence of title

Defending champion David Wilson (Troon Welbeck) succesfully crossed the first hurdle in his defence of the Ayrshire Boys Matchplay Championship on Thursday when he secured one of the eight places available during the Ayrshire Boys Championship at Troon Lochgreen.

Wilson took the fourth qualifying place of the eight in his bid to become the first player to successfully defend the County boys matchplay trophy.

The 2010 Ayrshire Boys Matchplay Championship will again be hosted by Prestwick Golf Club. First round ties will be played on Thursday 12th August with the semi finals on Friday 13th and the final on Saturday 14th.
