AYRSHIRE FOURBALL CHAMPIONSHIP - Maybole pair continue bid for third final appearance

The Maybole pairing of David Wallace and Scott McCahill are one step away from a third appearance in four years in the final of the Ayrshire Fourball Championship.

Having lost out in the final in 2009 and 2007, the Maybole duo maintained hopes of reaching this years final with a 5 & 4 win at home in the quarter finals against James Anderson & Ross McCrorie of Loudoun Gowf Club.

Wallace & McCahill now face an away match in the semi finals against either David Gilmour & Robert Cruickshanks (Moorpark) or John Brodie & Alan Smeeton (Chase).

In the other semi final, Johnny O'Neill & Gary Ross (North Beach) or Andy Reid & Craig Murdoch (Ayr Carrick) will be at home to Alastair Brown & Roger Thyne (Kilmarnock Barassie).

The outstanding quarter final matches are due to be completed by 8th August with the semi finals due to be played by 5th September.
