GREENLEES TROPHY - ladies Inter Club league matches well under way

The West Of Scotland Ladies Inter Club league matches, for the Greenlees Trophy, are well under way this season, with Ayrshire clubs featuring in two of the three divisions.

In DIVISION 1, Kilmarnock Barassie opened with a 5.5 - 3.5 home win over Milngavie, whilst Troon Ladies began with a 6 - 3 home win against near neighbours Prestwick St. Nicholas.

West Kilbride have not had the best of starts, losing 5 - 4 at home to Cathkin Braes and then being defeated 7.5 - 1.5 at Ranfurly Castle.

No Ayrshire clubs feature in DIVISION 2, where Cardross and Old ranfurly lead the way with two wins each so far.

In DIVISION 3, Largs opened with defeat by 5 - 4 at Lanark and 7.5 - 1.5 at Haggs Castle, whilst Turnberry began with a 9 - 0 defeat at Haggs Castle followed by a 7 - 2 defeat at home to Lanark.

In a recent clash of the two Ayrshire clubs at Largs, the home side ran out winners by 7 - 2 over Turnberry.

Matches in all three divisions will continue throughout the summer with the overall winners of each division, and teams destined for promotion and relegation being determined by the number of ties won overall throughout the league matches.
