PGA WATERAID PRO AM - Jim McKinnon wins at Barassie

Irvine Golf Club professional Jim McKinnon won the Scottish PGA Wateraid 36-hole pro-am at Kilmarnock (Barassie) on Thursday 7th May with excellent rounds of 71 and 72 for a one under par total of 143, over two wet and windy days of competition.

Joint runners-up were Mark King (Kingsfield) and Ken Campbell (Machrihanish) who were two shots further back on 145.

Former Amateur champion Gordon Sherry, playing over his home course, shot a best of the tournament 70 in his second round for a total of 147 and 6th place overall.

Other players with an Ayrshire connection who finished well up the field included Calum Nicoll (Prestwick), Ayr resident Jonathan Lomas as well as former Ayrshire player Graeme Fox (East Kilbride) and former Barassie member Alan Reid (West Lothian)
