SCOTTISH BOYS CHAMPIONSHIP - Ayrshires hopes for 2009 end in quarter finals

Hopes of a second successive Ayrshire win in the Scottish Boys Championship ended on Friday when the county's two remaining representitives in the competition bowed out in the quarter finals.

Marc Smith (Troon Welbeck) lost by 2 & 1 to Daniel Kay (Dunbar) whilst Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie) was defeated 4 & 3 by Paul Shields (Kirkhill)

The 36 hole final on Saturday will be between the top two seeds in the competition, Paul Shields and David Law (Hazlehead)
