The top seed in the 2009 Ayrshire Ladies County Golf Championship being played over Glasgow Gailes this week, Rachael McQueen (Troon Ladies), was knocked out of the tournament at the quarter final stage on Wednesday afternoon when she was beaten 4 & 3 by Liz Keohone (Loudoun).

H. Gaunt (Troon Ladies) bt B. Beckett (Caprington) by 3 and 2
A. Glennie (Kilmarnock Barassie) bt E. Taylor (Troon Ladies) by 3 and 2
A. Thompson (Loudoun) bt R Donaldson (Troon Ladies) by 6 and 5
G. Smith (Ardeer) bt J. West (Irvine) by 5 and 4
L. Hendry (Largs Routenburn) bt L. Allan (West Kilbride) by 2 holes
The results of the quarter finals, played on Wednesday afternoon, were :-
