AYRSHIRE GOLF ASSOCIATION - Irvine win local derby to take 2007 title.

Irvine Golf Club - pictured below - are the 2007 Ayrshire Summer League champions after defeating near neighbours Irvine Ravenspark in the two leg final on 22nd and 23rd September.

Irvine, runners up in 2006, had home advantage in the first leg, and stamped their authority on the match with a 5.5 - 0.5 win over the Bogside links on saturday.

Ravenspark - pictured right -faced a daunting prospect in the second leg of the tie, but battled all the way for a 4 - 2 win at Ravenspark, to restore some pride .

Despite Ravenspark's efforts, the lead Irvine built up in the first leg proved to be just beyond the Ravenspark team who ran out losers by 7.5 - 4.5 overall.
