Scotland, with Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) in the team, were beaten by Italy in the first round of the matchplay on Thursday 12 June.
Michael Stewart was in the winning Scotland pair in the morning, as the foursomes were shared 1 - 1, but in the afternoon Scotland lost all but one of the singles, with three of the defeats being on the final green.
