At the mid way stage of the 2007 Doc Thom Order of Merit, Ayrshire Strokeplay champion John Shanks (Irvine) - pictured right - leads the way. With three of the six qualifying events completed, Shanks has amassed 247.5 points, almost 100 points ahead of his nearest rival, matchplay Champion Steven Murray (Troon Welbeck)
The remaining three qualifying events are the Viking Crus at largs (26th August), the Welbeck Links at Troon Darley & Lochgreen (2nd September) and the Arroll Cup at Prestwick St. Nicholas (15th September).
