The two preliminary matches in the 2007 AJGL Under 16 Knockout Trophy competition have been completed, with the holders Kilmarnock (Barassie) progressing safely into round 1, in their bid to retain their title.
Kilmarnock (Barassie) were 3 - 1 winners at home to Irvine Ravenspark and now have a home tie in round 1, against Kilbirnie Place.
In the other preliminary match, local Prestwick rivals St. Cuthbert and St. Nicholas met at the St. Cuthbert course, with the visitors winning through by 2.5 - 1.5.
St. Nicholas now travel to meet New Cumnock in round 1.
The eight first round matches, due for completion by 3rd June 2007, are :-
