2006 Ayrshire Junior Order Of Merit winner - John Shanks (Ardeer)

AJM: A member of Prestwick St. Cuthbert Golf Club since 1976 and also Prestwick St. I assisted the junior Convenor at Prestwick St. Cuthbert until taking the post on myself in 1987. During my 4 years as convenor, I was also elected Secretary of The Ayrshire Junior Golf League, in 1989, a position held until February 2006. Since 1989 I have also served on the Ayrshire Golf Association Executive in various roles. I gained an S.G.U. Rules Of Golf qualification in 2003, and an similar R & A qualification in 2008.
