AYRSHIRE GOLF ASSOCIATION - Full house at 24th Annual Dinner

A good turnout of representatives from clubs throughout the county were entertained in great style at the 24th annual dinner and presentation of trophyies of the Ayrshire Golf Association, which was held at Irvine Ravenspark on Friday 24th February 2006.

The dinner, in the absence of President Ian Guthrie (Ballochmyle), was chaired by Vice President Ricky Magee (Caprington).

whose clubs had all hosted county events during 2005.

After a hearty meal, Alan Harrington of sponsors Anaplast, himself a former winner of both the Doc Thom Salver and the Ayrshire Matchplay Championship, presented trophies and awards to the seasons winners.

At the conclusion of the presentation of prizes, SGU President Gordon McInnes gave an amusing and very informed toast toThe Ayrshire Golf Association, before Guest Speaker Tony Higgins, the former Hibernian, Partick Thistle and Morton player, entertained the company with his amusing stories of his many years in foot ball and around sporting people.

At the conclusion of the evening, Past President Robin Baker proposed a vote of thanks to the guests and all those who contributed to the success of the evening.
