JUNIOR ORDER OF MERIT - Mackay still in front after 5 events

Jamie Mackay (Kilmarnock Barassie) remains at the top of the table, after completion of the latest two Order Of Merit events, at Largs and Kilmarnock Barassie. Mackay took 4th and 7th places in the respective events, to give him points from each of the last 4 events.

At Largs, local member Craig McLaughlin took top spot amongst the 78 competitors with clubmate, Iain Menzies, who defends his Ayrshire Boys title next month, taking second place.

Darren Kean (West Kilbride) edged into third spot ahead of Jamie Mackay, by virtue of the beter inward half, on 73, with Andrew Connell (Largs), Malcolm Pennycott (Whiting Bay) and Fraser lawrie (Largs) taking the remaining Order Of Merit points.

At the Pollock Trophy at Kilmarnock Barassie, Cameron Gray (West Kilbride) took full points with a scratch 72, edging out David Currie of the host club by virtue of the better inward half to take top spot amongst the 87 competitors.

Gray eas the only player from outwith the host club to take any Order Of Merit points from the Pollock Trophy event, the remaining points going to Robert McKnight (73), David Addison (75), Nicky Sinclair (76), Stuart Henderson (77) and Jamie Mackay (77).

Qualifying events this week are the Troon Welbeck Boys Open and the Beith Boys Open, whilst next week there are three qualifying events, the Loudoun Boys Open, the Harris Open at West Kilbride and the Scottish Boys Strokeplay at Monifieth.
