AYRSHIRE GOLF ASSOCIATION - Summer League latest

All five sections in the 2005 Ayrshire Summer League have now begun, with 10 matches already completed throughout the qualifying sections.

In League 1, Loudoun are setting the pace after home wins in their two opening fixtures. An opening 6 - 0 home win over Moorpark was followed with a 5.5 - 0.5 win over Turnberry.

Turnberry opened their own account with a narrow 3.5 - 2.5 win over their visitors, West Kilbride, in their opening fixture. Present positions in the section are :-

In League 2, Kilbirnie are the pacesetters, with a 3-3 draw in their opening home match agains Troon Portland being followed by a 5-1 win over their visitors, Annanhill in their second fixture.

Annanhill had started well before defeat at Kilbirnie, with a 4.5-1.5 away win over NACCO. Present positions in the section are :-

In the only match so far in League 3, holders Ballochmyle opened their defence with a 4.5 - 1.5 home win over Troon Welbeck. Irvine Bogside have still to play their first fixture in this 3 team section.

There has only been one match so far in League 4, Caprington gaining a 3.5-2.5 win on their visit to Ayr Belleisle. Kilmarnock Barassie are the other side in this 3 team section, and have still to play their first fixture.

In League 5, Ravenspark opened with a 5.5-0.5 home win over Tam O Shanter, whilst St. Meddans gained a good away win, with a 3.5-2.5 win on thier visit to Tam O Shanter. Present positions in the section are :-
