AYRSHIRE SENIOR MEN'S MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP - Qualifiers from Girvan confirmed

The eight qualifiers who will contest the 2024 Ayrshire Senior Men's Matchplay Championship has been confirmed following the 2024 Ayrshire Senior Men's Championship held at Girvan on Tuesday the 9th of July.

The scratch qualifying score for the matchplay championship was 71, with three from six players on that score going through to contest the championship, by virtue of the better inward half.

In the first round the Senior Strokeplay Champion Raymond Simons (Golf South Ayrshire) will host Colin Watson (Kilmarnock Barassie), while Craig Hillis (Kilmarnock Barassie) will host Andrew Marshall (Prestwick St Nicholas). 

The current trophy holder Brian Fisher (Largs) succesfully qualified to defend his title and will host Stuart Miller (Kilmarnock Barassie) in the first round, while Alistair Belford (Prestwick St Nicholas), the inaugural winner of the trophy in 2022, will host Henry Thompson (Irvine) in the other first round tie.

The first round matches are due to be completed by the 24th of July with the semi finals to be played by the 7th of August.

The final will be held at Royal Troon GC on Friday the 9th of August.
