AYRSHIRE WOMEN'S HANDICAP LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP - Qualifying sections progressing towards confirmation of semi finalists

The two qualifying section in the 2024 Ayrshire Women's handicap League Championship competition are well under way, as club teams endevour to win a place in the semi final matches in August.

In SECTION A, Largs lead the way with a 100% record from the three games played so far, which includes home wins by 4-0 and 3-1 over Kilmarnock Barassie and Ballochmyle respectively, and an away win by 2.5-1.5 at Loudoun.

Loudoun remain just ahead of Kilmarnock Barassie in second place, with two games in hand over the Barassie side, who remain unbeaten at home following recent wins by 2.5-1.5 against Ballochmyle and 4-0 against Prestwick St Cuthbert, who themselves gained their first points of the campaign with a 2.5-1.5 home win in the return fixture.

Defending champions Caprington lead the way at present in SECTION B, with just over half the scheduled fixtures completed.

Caprington made it three wins from three recently with a 3.5-0.5 home win over Troon Welbeck and a 3-1 away win at Royal Troon.

In the other matches played recently, Royal Troon and Troon Welbeck shared the honours in their two encounters, each winning their home match by 2.5-1.5.

The first two clubs in each section when fixtures are completed by the 4th of August will progress to home and away semi finals, with the winners playing off for the League Championship at Ballochmyle during Finals day on the 1st of September.
