AYRSHIRE JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE - Semi final draws

the draws for the semi finals of a number of Ayrshire Junior Golf League competitions were made at a recent meeting of League members.

In the AYRSHIRE JUNIOR CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS competition, Graeme Greer (Prestwick St Nicholas) will play 2015 Ayrshire Boys Champion Craig McKenzie (Troon Welbeck) in the first semi final whilst the second semi final involves Andrew Shaw (Prestwick St Cuthbert) who is at home to Euan Ferguson (Turnberry).

In the quarter finals, Greer had a 4 & 3 away win over Elliot Spence (Loudoun) whilst Craig Mckenzie won by 3 & 2 at home to Ross McDonald (Irvine)

The final is scheduled to take place at Kilmarnock (Barassie) GC on Sunday 25th September.

In the WALLACE THORNTON TROPHY, Turnberry or Ballochmyle will play Troon Welbeck and Ayr Belleisle will take on Kilmarnock (Barassie) in the semi finals.

In the quarter finals Kilmarnock (Barassie) had a walkover against Prestwick St Cuthbert whilst Troon Welbeck had a 3.5 - 0.5 home win over irvine in the second leg of their tie, having halved the first leg at Irvine by 2 - 2. Ayr belleisle had a comprehensive win over Loudoun, winning both their home and away legs by 4 - 0.

The final is scheduled to take place at Kilmarnock (Barassie) on Sunday 11th September.

In the UNDER 16 KNOCKOUT TROPHY competition, Ayr Belleisle will be at home to Kilmarnock (Barassie) in the semi final, whilst Ardeer will play host to Turnberry.

In the quarter finals, Turnberry had a 3.5 - 0.5 home win over irvine, Ayr belleisle won away from hom against Troon Welbeck by 4 - 0 and Ardeer were 2.5 - 1.5 away winners at West Kilbride. Kilmarnock (Barassie) were the first to book their semi final place with a 4 - 0 home win over Loudoun.

The final of the Under 16 Knockout Trophy is scheduled to take place at Kilmarnock (Barassie) on Sunday 11th September.

In the AYRSHIRE JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP, Turnberry top section A with only one home game left to play against Troon Welbeck, whilst Ayr Belleisle and Irvine looking the most likely challengers to Turnberry’s bid for a final place in their first season in the competition.

In Section B, Kilmanrock (Barassie) have stormed to the top of the section after a run of recent home wins. A 5 – 1 result against Prestwick St Cuthbert was followed by a 4 – 2 win over Ballochmyle and a 4.5 – 1.5 result against Loudoun.

Following a 5.5 – 0.5 away defeat at Ballochmyle, Prestwick St Cuthbert maintained their hopes for a place in the final with a 3.5 – 2.5 win in the corresponding home fixture.
