SOUTH AMERICAN AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP - walker finishes tied 40th after closing 82

A final round 82 saw Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) finish in equal 40th place in the South American Amateur Championship at the weekend, following three steady opening rounds.

HILL, WALKER FINISH T40 IN SOUTH AMERICA

Scots Calum Hill (Tantallon) and Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) tied for 40th place at the South American amateur championship at Lima Peru.
University of Louisiana-Monroe student Hill had rounds of 80, 72, 74 and 75 for a 13-over-par total of 301 - 22 shots behind the American winner Scott Harvey.
Hill had a triple bogey 7 at the sixth in his final round which included a strong finish of birdies at the 12th, 14th and 17th.
Walker had rounds of 72, 73, 74 and 82 for 301. His inward half of 44 in the final round included an 8 at the par-3 11th.
Harvey, last year's US mid-amateur champion, made all the running with scores of 66, 70, 70 and 73 for nine-under 279 and a two-shot victory.
England's double European champion Ashley Chesters finished the top British and Irish player in  eighth place on 285 (74-68-69-74)
