MENS HOME INTERNATIONALS - Scotland lose to Wales on final day

Scotland lost 8-7 to Wales on the last day of the Men's Home Internationals at Southerndown GC, South Wales.

secured two points from two for the second successive day.

Ireland won the title with three wins out of three, clinching the title with a 9 1/1-5 1/2 win over England who had a miserable campaign.

Ireland were champions with 3pt, Wales runners-up with 1 1/2pt, Scotland third with 1pt and England were bottom of the table with half-a-point.

The Scots trailed Wales 3-2 after the morning foursomes and could only draw the singles 5-5.
Adam Dunton (McDonald Ellon) and Scottish champion Chris Robb (Meldrum House) lost the last two singles by 3 and 2, and 4 and 2 respectively, enabling Wales to share the afternoon honours.
Top points earner for Scotland was Craig Ross (Kirkhill) with 4 1/2 out of 6. He was followed by Daniel Young (Craigie Hill), Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie) and Graeme Robertson (Glenbervie), all with 4pt out of 6.

Young had four wins from four matches until the last day when he lost two out of two.
