US COLLEGE GOLF - Walker continues good form

Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) has continued his good early form since his move to study in Missouri, finishing in the runner up spot in a recent event.

Euan Walker from Ayrshire, in one of his first competitions as a student at the University of Missouri, finished joint second and helped his college to take the team honours in the Columbia Regional Preview over 54 holes at The Club @ Old Hawthorne, Columbia in Missouri.

Walker, pictured, shot 73, 66 and 71 for a six-under-par total of 210 over a longish course of 7,221yd with a par of 72.

He finished two shots behind team-mate  Emilio Cuartero who scored 68, 67 and 70 for 205.

England's Seb Crookall Nixon, a student at San Francisco University, finished T9 in a field of 65 players. He shot 74-70-71 for 215.

Londoner Ross Dixon, a junior (third year) student at Nebraska, finished T22 on 222 with rounds of 74, 76 and 72.

Missouri (852) won the team event from Iowa State (857) with Austin Peay State (870) third and San Francisco (876) fourth in a field of 11 teams.
